WUDDUP PEEPS???

My last blog was kind of depressing, I know… lol but things are really looking up for me. I just received my PELL GRANT (which means I dont have to pay it back woo-hoo!) & everything is now falling back in order. Thanks to those who prayed for me =]

Kyle: “YOU MEAN PRAYING ACTUALLY WORKS???”  (sarcasm)

Ritz: “UUUHHH yea, I think thats the whole idea”

uumm…. Plantation Key is pretty much THE BUSINESS… The drive is not that bad and the church is so awesome. I met some cool kids from the Keys (shout out to Gracy, Matthew, Diana & all the other little ones!). The Kids Life hallway is real nice too! =] I wanted to figure out a way to fly the church over to Homestead (even though I like the theatre)… That night was just generally fun; I got to spend time with my long lost Kelly Kel and my hommie Ritz

In other news… I just bought the new 2nd generation iTouch!!!! Its the best =]

& THE MOST IMPORTANT NEWS TODAY!!!!

I VOTED!!!!! =]

OK, so i know i haven’t blogged all month but life has been kinda hectic & i literally haven’t had any bored/free time to blog-it-up until this very moment. I am actually at Miami-Dade (Kendall Campus) in the computer lab right now at 5:30 and my class doesn’t start until 8:25 & doesn’t end until 10:55! So yea, I might not be a time management expert but I thik i may be in a little over my head.

On the bright side, I got a new job at Educational Alternatives as a “teacher’s aid”. It’s a special needs private school right off of Bird Rd. in Westchester. When I first started on Teusday, my workload consisted of the typical duties that you would expect from the “typical teacher’s aid” but recently (today) I found out that I will actually be teaching my own class. Today was my first day as a teacher & I must say, I didn’t think i would enjoy it as much as I do. They say when you graduate from high school, you grow and learn about yourself & I feel that I have grown up so much since that June 3rd graduation date that it is almost scary. I discovered that I have a passion for special needs and it gives me this warm feeling of accomplishment every day that I am at that school that is undescribeable. If I am getting this feeling this early on the pathway to my career, I cannot wait until I am an official certified Occupational Therapist. I am already so attached to the kids in my school & it feels really good to be surrounded in a workplace where ever single employee is passionate about what they do & loves it.

Anyway….. I CAME BACK FROM NEW YORK/NEW JERSERY ON MONDAY!! & I was this close to boycotting Miami & moving there for good… I love that place soooo flipping much (besides the crowds & the constant tourism) & it makes Miami look this big (& that’s pretty small)….

But yea, that can be for another blog….. For now, I’m out!

yuck.

So most of you may know this already, but I work at a summer camp for children with mental & physical disabilities (Creative Adventures Camp). Thursday morning, July 17th I rushed to work and didnt have time to pack a lunch so I was forced to purchase food from the “Canteen” at my job. Around 1pm I took my lunch break & ordered a “Grilled Chicken Sandwich” (more like microwaved chicken patty).

Skip a couple hours later…

So I left my job around 6 (10 HOUR SHIFT!!!) and on my way to the Life-Pointe office for our weekly rehearsal I start to feel sick (like stomach sick). I had to take a break or two to vomit in the restroom downstairs I felt so sick (sorry to the people in the church office). I decided that despite my sickness, I will stay throughout the entire rehearsal, and I did.

After rehearsal, I went home (still feeling incredibly sick) and went straight to bed. My mom came in & did the whole mom thing (tea, medicine, temperature, the works) & discovered that i had a temperature of 100.6. Needless to say, I didn’t eat anything that night =’[

I woke up the next morning with a temperature of 100.7!!! I was feeling even worse. Although my stomach no longer hurt (it was empty), i was dizzy, had a headache, the chills, & all together just felt like crap. Around 1 or 2pm I was back at 98.6 degrees feeling as normal as my body can get! Can somebody tell me why my immune system is playing games with me? Was it food poisoning from the “Grilled” microwaved mystery patty? Did i catch a 1-day sickness from one of the children? Both? SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS!!!

I’m just glad I’m over it. But now I have to hear it from my mom that she thinks I gave her whatever I had… o_0 ugh.
